Privacy policy
Last updated: July 17, 2026
The short version: Shortless collects nothing. No accounts, no analytics, no tracking, no ads. Everything the app knows lives on your device.
What Shortless does
Shortless is a Safari extension that hides YouTube Shorts elements on youtube.com. It runs entirely in your browser, on your device. It does not read, store, or transmit your browsing history, watch history, searches, or account information.
Data stored on your device
Your settings (which surfaces to hide), your dodge counters, and your streak are stored locally on your device. They never leave it, and deleting the app deletes them.
Optional anonymous reports
YouTube changes its page markup from time to time, and occasionally a Short slips through. If, and only if, you opt in, Shortless can send an anonymous report to help fix it. A report contains:
- the HTML element and class names of the item that slipped through,
- the selector version Shortless was using,
- the app and iOS version.
A report never contains what you watched or searched, URLs of specific videos, or anything that identifies you. If you don’t opt in, you can review the exact payload of each report before deciding to send or discard it.
Third parties
There are none. No analytics SDKs, no ad networks, no crash reporters phoning home.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the date at the top will be updated. Given how little there is to change, don’t expect much excitement here.
